About AERL
AERL, Applied Electronics and Robotics Laboratory LLP, is a research and development lab and tech startup specializing in hardware to software engineering, spanning artificial intelligence, embedded systems, and beyond. The team also maintains and extends its open-source projects, including the AERL C++ Framework.
The AERL team is a record holder (Asia Book of Records & India Book of Records) for the project SKI021, recognized as "The Youngest Team to Build and Fly a Semi-Autonomous Drone with Fully Custom Firmware and Avionics".
We are specialised in hardware to software: Artificial Intelligence, Embedded Systems, Machine Learning, and Aerospace.
Projects
VoltiQ — AI Platform (Live)
The ultimate AI platform for engineering students. An AI platform built for engineers and students, packed with genuinely useful built-in tools. Live HTML rendering and native LaTeX compilation come standard, no external tools needed. Three distinct chat modes — General, Study, and Engineering — each with its own style and problem-solving approach. VoltiQ runs on a 3-layer memory system that keeps context sharp across conversations.

SKI021 — Semi-Autonomous Drone (V1.00)
Custom firmware and avionics, designed and flown in-house. SKI021 is a semi-autonomous drone with custom avionics and firmware built from scratch, designed and developed by the AERL Team. It is a record-holding project (Asia Book of Records & India Book of Records) with the record title "The Youngest Team to Develop & Fly a Semi-Autonomous Drone with custom Firmware & Avionics." Compatible fields: Aerospace, Drone, UAV, Hardware & Software.
AERL C++ Framework — Open Source (V1.00)
A hardware-abstraction layer for AERL firmware. The AERL C++ Framework is an open-source project — a framework for embedded systems built on top of the Arduino framework. It is an abstraction layer that simplifies programming for beginners, letting code read almost like plain English. Compatible with ESP32 and Arduino boards.
